Please note that there is an increase in the rebate offered on the programme registered systems. This rebate is effective with immediate effect. The increase comes in the wake of the Minister of Energy calling for solar water heating to play a significant role in reducing the current electricity constraint.
The new rebate is applicable for all quotations from 11 January 2010.
The new solar programme rebate has been calculated to allow consumers a payback of less than 5 years for the installation of a solar water heating system.
This calculation is done taking into account the average cost of systems, average savings per system, average electricity tariff rate and cost of capital at prime interest rate per various system sizes. This rebate will be reduced annually in accordance with the electricity tariff increases.
